Job Description: The Continuous Improvement Intern will be responsible for leading department level initiatives that directly impact the strategic goals of our corporation. From day one, this position will be a key member of the continuous improvement team working alongside manufacturing leaders to identify and eliminate waste through the application of lean and six sigma methodologies.
Essential Functions: Use of Lean tools defining gaps between current state / future state and create action plans.Analyze data and metric performance to prioritize improvement events that directly affect favorable division performance.Create visual standards and management key performance indicators to drive an environment of continuous improvement.Collaborate with a variety of departments throughout the facility to map business process flow, document inputs and outputs, and identify areas for waste reduction.Qualifications: Must be enrolled in an accredited program and pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations, Lean, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field.Jr. or Sr. status and a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.Demonstrated strong communication skills to communicate with other functional areas both with operator and support staff.Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in basic usage of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Must have the ability to obtain a clearance which typically requires a U.S. Citizenship and a clean background check.Preferred Additional Skills: Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Behavioral Science, or Agile techniques.Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, and resourceful.Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to influence decisions.RENK America is an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V
