The exact dates are flexible depending on each student's availability and our business need. Our internships are full-time paid positions (40 hours/week).Your role will consist ofAs an intern, you will be responsible for implementing specific projects, as well as supporting the day-to-day activities of your department. The exact projects will be established according to your availability, interest, skills, and experience, in addition to the specific business needs.Possible projects include:• General support to the Global Project Engineering (PEN) team for data collection and analyses, information management and reporting• Establish a structured SharePoint site for the PEN to facilitate easy access to standards, procedures, guidelines and go-bys for the global group.• Set up templates for audit reporting as part of Newmont's stage gate process and governance/assurance reviews.• Review PEN component of Project risk registers to confirm compliance and completeness• Support development of specifications for Owner's Minimum Requirements initiatives• Support development of position paper on merits of implementing digital project delivery process and systems for major capital projects• Support development of a sustainable process for implementation of lessons learned for engineering design across global projects• Support development and implementation of training programs for Value Improvement Processes (VIP), Safety and Sustainability in Design (SSiD) and Owner's Engineering ManagementThe above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work; other work may also be assigned.Your training, skills, and experience checklist• Undergraduate students preferred, graduating in December 2024 or later -Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Data/Information Management. We will consider other similar disciplines.• Experience in mining and/or passion to learn about the hard-rock mining industry preferred• Strong organization, project and time management skills• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfort engaging with senior leaders and global teams• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English is essential, fluency in French and/or Spanish would be beneficial.• Strong research methods capability and information management skills• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite• At least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent• Valid work authorization to work in the United States for this position.With a strong focus on inclusion and diversity, we welcome all applicants who feel they are qualified for this role.Working conditions and locationThis internship is based at our corporate headquarters in Denver, CO. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
