Opportunity The Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to training the next generation of physicians in a supportive and rigorous academic environment.
At FSUCOM - TMH, we are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Fourth Year Chief Medical Resident for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year.
The position is a one-year experience that offers a unique blend of education, patient care, leadership, and administration.
The CMR will play a pivotal role in the administration and leadership of the residency program.
This position involves acting as a liaison between residents and faculty, participating in the evaluation and mentorship of residents, coordinating SIM and clinic didactics, and overseeing resident schedules.
The CMR will also have the opportunity to engage in clinical practice, research opportunities, and quality improvement initiatives.
They will also have the opportunity to attend conferences for professional development with opportunities to expand in several areas of POCUS.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and organize residency meetings, conferences, and educational activities.Conduct Friday clinic didactics, SIM Sessions, and hands-on POCUS training.Collaborate with faculty to enhance the educational experience of residents.Serve as a mentor and role model for junior residents and medical students.Participate in the clinical care of patients while maintaining a leadership role.Junior faculty attending for inpatient floor rounds and outpatient clinic preceptorship.Facilitate communication between residents and faculty to address concerns.Assist in the evaluation and feedback process for residents.Support quality improvement projects and research initiatives within the program.Represent the residency program at various committees and meetings.Qualifications & Licensure: Must be a current third-year resident in an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program.Demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to teaching and education.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A passion for resident education and professional development.Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine.Florida Medical License.Board eligible (should be registered for the internal medicine board certifying examination).No Visa Sponsorship.Application Process: Interested candidates should submit the following documents:
