Cleveland Clinic, one of the worlds most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Director of its Internal Medicine Residency Program. A flagship residency program, the Cleveland Clinic Internal Medicine Residency provides a world class education encompassing general, specialty and primary care Internal Medicine. The residency program falls within the Cleveland Clinic Primary Care Institute and interfaces with institutes across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. The IM Residency Program Director has responsibility, authority and accountability for the operation of the Internal Medicine Residency program, which is the largest physician training program at Cleveland Clinic and one of the largest IM Residency Programs in the nation, with 166 residents. The new Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program will be an MD or DO who is ABIM certified and possesses requisite clinical, educational, and administrative experience beyond residency training. Prior residency or GME leadership experience is required. Qualified applicants will have:At least five years of participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency ProgramSignificant Graduate Medical Education administrative experience prior to appointmentCurrent certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal MedicineEligibility to obtain Ohio State Medical LicensureThe Program Director will maintain a close collaborative relationship with the leadership of the Primary Care Institute Graduate Medical Education, Education Institute and other program stakeholders. The Internal Medicine Program Director will dedicate no less than 70% of her/his professional effort to the administrative and educational activities of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and will receive institutional support for this time.
