TeamHealth and HCA Florida West Hospital are seeking a dynamic and experienced internal medicine (IM) program director to lead our established IM Residency Program. This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical, educational, and administrative expertise in a collaborative environment with a focus on excellence in medical education and patient care.
About the Role:
The program director will provide leadership and oversight of the residency program, ensuring compliance with ACGME standards, fostering a culture of academic excellence, and supporting residents' development. Responsibilities include a balance of administrative duties and teaching responsibilities (50%/50%), with opportunities for ongoing clinical practice.
Qualifications: Board Certification: internal medicine (ABIM or AOBIM)Experience: minimum of three (3) years post-residency clinical practice and at least three (3) years of GME teaching/administrative experience as a program director or associate program director in an ACGME-accredited residency programScholarly Activity: recent engagement in scholarly activity such as: peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees or educational organizations (within last 5 years)Skills: strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, and team-building abilitiesPosition Highlights: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, and more through TeamHealthAdditional negotiable incentivesA supportive work environment within a trusted community hospitalWest Florida Hospital:
West Florida Hospital is the first hospital in the area to offer all private rooms. This 306-bed facility also has a separate pediatric emergency department solely dedicated to treating the emergency healthcare of infants, children, and adolescents. The adult ED has specially trained staff, including specialty trained emergency medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, technicians, and health unit coordinators. In addition, West Florida Hospital also offers senior emergency services for geriatric patients and their families.
