Description The Leidos Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) has an opening for an International Space Station (ISS) Science Integrator in Houston, Texas at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC).
This position will serve as a member of the Applications Client Support Office (OZ3) in the Research Integration Office (OZ) within the International Space Station (ISS) Program. The Applications Client Support Office is responsible for ushering ISS utilization payloads from cradle to grave. These responsibilities include payload/investigation feasibility, acceptance, mission integration, on-orbit execution, and communication of scientific results. Clients include the NASA Headquarters-based Science Mission Directorate (SMD), Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD), Advanced Exploration Systems (AES), Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM) and their work across multiple NASA centers. Additional clients include those entering the ISS program through the ISS National Laboratory with technology demonstration, STEM, commercial, and external payload investigations. This position will work closely with client team leads and the office manager to ensure client needs are met.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required. Primary Responsibilities: Establish and maintain relationships with internal/external clients to maximize use of the ISS. Ensure feasibility of newly identified and proposed science investigations and technology demonstrations. Perform science management/integration efforts; work with payload integration teams to ensure effective progression throughout the ISS integration workflow.Exercise organizational and technical leadership in all aspects of ISS research integration work. Collaborate across OZ and ISS program to ensure safe and successful execution of scientific and technology implementation efforts on the ISS.Apply science, technology, and integration knowledge to review requests for proposals, statements of work, and modify as needed. Utilize understanding of contract processes and management of the funding of investigations.Integrate across contracting officer, implementation partners/payload developers and center representatives on financial activities related to investigations within the portfolio.Track, monitor, and report experiment-specific metrics as measures of execution completion. Identify and implement process improvements to support competing priorities.Serve as an unbiased advocate and technical resource for all science on ISS. Consolidate and communicate the research performed on the ISS, from experimental design to results.Interface with the research community in academia, other government agencies, and other NASA centers.Support agreements and integration processes related to domestic and international collaborations with the goal of maximizing ISS resources.Minimum Qualifications: Master of Science Degree in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences or Engineering field with 5+ years of applicable professional experience.Strong foundation and experience in science research and integration, including collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting accurate, relevant scientific data.Excellent oral/written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project managers, project leads, customers, and contract colleagues to achieve shared goals.Customer-focused, quality and process improvement oriented individual with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.Ability to communicate science/technical concepts across multiple disciplines and various teams.Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with ISS research payloads integration activities and processes.Experience in research operations, including planning and executing laboratory research operations.Original Posting Date:********

Pay Range:Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
