Position Summary

This position is in Cordova in the beautiful Chugach National Forest.
We are looking for an experienced fisheries technician to assist in the end of the season tasks.
These tasks could include field work, data management, and preparation for next field season.
While the season is mostly over some field work tasks that did not get completed may still be accomplished with opportunistic weather conditions.
There is an abundance of temperature data that was collected this field season that needs QAQC and processed.
New projects are on the horizon for next field season; thus, some preparation and research are warranted.


Schedule

November 2, 2024 - December 13, 2024

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Organizing temperature data into the USFS AqS system.
End of the season clean up and wrap up tasks including possible field work.
Research and project developments are also possible duties.


Marginal Duties

Preparing presentations, researching, and project development.


Required Qualifications
•Qualifications include a BS in Biology, Environmental Sciences or Studies.

•At least 2 seasons of experience in fisheries related field work in Region 10.


Preferred Qualifications
•Certification as a boat operator.

•Experience with USFS AqS data system.


Hours

40 per week

Living Accommodations

Housing provided by the USFS.
May be shared accommodations.


Compensation

$650/week - living allowance
$1300 - travel stipend
$310/month - housing allowance

All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
