Qualified external candidates only Job Summary:The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs tasks that provide support during invasive neurologic, vascular, and non-vascular procedures. VIR cases include neurology, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, and nephrology. The interventional radiology technologist functions under the direction of the Interventional physicians.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPrepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.Circulate and scrub complex IR/neuro procedures. Support OR Vascular surgery cases as needed. Responsible for billing/coding of procedures performed. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Performs other duties as assigned.Call is required with 30 minute response time.
