About The Position **Job Title:** Interventional Radiology Specialist **Job Specialty:** Interventional Radiology **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** M-F (8hr days) or M-F (4-10s) or M-F (3-12s) including call **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** 3 years in Radiology (any/all modalities) **License:** Cert Med Radiologic Technologist **Certifications:** ARRT Registered Technologist, Radiography **Must-Have:** - Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program - Knowledge of Radiology physics and procedures - Understanding of Radiology principles suitable for all age groups - Basic life support and medical terminology understanding - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to utilize basic office equipment **Job Description:** - Perform exceptional quality routine and specialized interventional radiographic procedures as requested by licensed practitioners. - Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and support team members. - Integrate scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce diagnostic information. - Maintain high accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. - Ensure radiation safety and protection for self, patients, and others. - Prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in compliance with state regulations and institutional policy. - Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. - Exercise critical thinking, professional, and ethical judgment in all work aspects. - Engage in continuing education to enhance patient care and professional competence. - Responsible for patient care, documentation, quality control, and quality improvement. - Provide training, education, and mentoring to students, technologists, nurses, residents, fellows, and staff. - Remain sensitive to patients' needs through effective communication and exceptional care skills. - Participate in quality improvement processes and continuously assess professional performance. - Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment. - Ensure adequate stock and update supply lists to facilitate continuous patient examination flow. - Verify patient identity and prepare them appropriately for procedures. - Confirm pregnancy and informed consent status of patients. - Assess and address factors that might contraindicate the procedure. - Determine and administer the type and dose of contrast agent based on patient-specific factors. - Anticipate and respond to patients' needs throughout the entire encounter. **Additional Skills:** - Operation and troubleshooting of required equipment, including automated processors, copying/digitizing film equipment, and systems for record-keeping and image storage. - Successful demonstration of professional fundamental competencies. - Articulate, courteous, and supportive interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure excellent customer service and positive guest relations. - Honor confidentiality commitments. - Independently scan patients following established protocols. - Preferable if bilingual skills are demonstrated. - Exhibit knowledge and skills for various interventional radiology procedures. 9485964EXPPLAT Job Requirements Required for Onboarding BLS - AHA Skills Checklist Specialty Exam About Cynet Health Your travel adventure begins here.
