Position Summary
Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant positions in the Student Recreation Complex.

Start Date
Position available on or after August 20, 2024, and ending on or before May 30, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

Job Description/Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Attend and assist in development and execution of orientations and trainings.
Assist with the development and implementation of program and specific sport rules, regulations and policies.
Serve as shift lead for daily operations.
Assist with supervision of student assistants.
Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of equipment and facility for assigned sport(s).
Attend Intramural Staff meetings and training sessions for respective sport(s).
Participate in program marketing by working info tables and campus events on behalf of Intramurals and Campus Recreation Department.
Provide coverage for SRC front desk as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred but not required that the incumbent demonstrate previous experience in an intramural or recreational sports program.
It is preferred but not required that the incumbent demonstrate previous experience with scorekeeping and/or officiating in an intramural or recreational sport program.
Demonstrates proficiency in dealing with difficult situations, concerns or complaints.
Demonstrates previous experience in and knowledge of recreational sports related to intramural programming.
Demonstrates ability to work in a group setting.
Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to work evening and weekends frequently.

Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
Post-baccalaureate students must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units in a graduate program.

Salary Range
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on the qualifications of the successful finalist)
