The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, performing cycle counts, and ensuring the proper storage and handling of materials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all materials are tracked, and inventory discrepancies are addressed efficiently to support production and operational needs.
\n ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESInventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using BioTrack Inventory Management System. Ensure material levels are optimal and in alignment with production or operational requirements.Stock Audits & Cycle Counts: Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits. Reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records, investigate causes, and implement corrective actions.Receiving & Shipping: Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensure materials are stored properly, labeled accurately, and tracked through to their destination.Data Entry & Reporting: Accurately enter inventory transactions and adjustments into the inventory management system. Prepare and generate reports on inventory status, discrepancies, and performance metrics.Inventory Replenishment: Work with purchasing and production teams to identify inventory needs and initiate replenishment orders based on forecasts or production schedules.Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO, GMP, etc.) when handling materials and managing inventory. Ensure proper storage conditions for different types of materials (e.g., temperature-sensitive products).Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with other departments, such as Procurement, Production, and Shipping/Receiving, to ensure inventory aligns with operational needs and schedules.Problem Resolution: Address inventory discrepancies, shortages, and other issues promptly. Investigate causes of discrepancies and suggest solutions to improve inventory accuracy SKILLS+QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent (required). Some college coursework in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields is a plus. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Experience with barcode scanning technology and inventory tracking systems is a plus.Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies.Ability to troubleshoot inventory issues and work proactively to resolve them.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle physical inventory tasks in a warehouse or storage environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
