General Description

The Institutional Client Investment Accounting Manager leads a team of accounting professionals who collectively ensure the accuracy and timeliness of client account records, NAV calculations, account performance, statement delivery, and highly customized deliverables.Additional responsibilities include coordination and prioritization of workload, implementation of improvements to controls, and oversight of the quality of processes and results.The implementation of improved functionality, greater automation, and a thoughtful response to fluctuations in industry standards is the ongoing expectation of the team and its leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

-Lead a team of on-site and remote investment accounting professionals.This may include influence and leadership of service providers in other time zones.
-Coach and motivate the team with focus on performance management, career growth, development, training, and cross-training.
-Leverage team and individual strengths and capacity to ensure appropriate staffing and work alignment.
-Determine appropriate prioritization of client deliverables in accordance with SLAs.
-Engage in client and/or counterparty-facing meetings to discuss accounting processes and controls.
-Leverage deep knowledge of asset reconciliation, trade processing, clearing, settlement, and custodian/third party reporting, to provide oversight.
-Focus on resolution, escalation, and ongoing assessment of the need for additional or modified controls and staff.
-Responsible for review and approval of all periodic report packages to ensure accurate and timely NAV reporting.
-Maintain an understanding of the firm's current and evolving products and services to ensure the team has adequate time and tools to implement or support new initiatives without incident or interruption to service levels.
-Responsible for accuracy of and adherence to Parametric policies, procedures, and processes, and their written representation in various systems and reports (e.g., SOC controls, SOX controls, Internal Audit, and other control regimes).
-Evaluate processes and controls with a continuous improvement mindset, while also considering client requirements and sound accounting methodologies.

Job Requirements

-Bachelor's Degree is required, with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
-MBA and/or CPA designation preferred.
-Demonstrated leadership strength and success as a player-coach. Prior direct supervisory experience required.
-Leadership/oversight of a geographically dispersed team preferred.
-Experience with investment and fund accounting concepts, and GAAP strongly preferred.
-6+ years relevant industry experience with and knowledge/understanding of the characteristics of asset types such as futures, swaps, options, assets backed bonds, equities, bonds, and ETFs strongly preferred.
-Expert in process, controls, procedures, and automation improvement.
-Proven track record in resolving complex problems, questions, and addressing business needs.
-Consistently deliver appropriate solutions and responses.
-Strong attention to detail and high standard for accuracy.
-Team player, highly flexible and adjustable to change, with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
-Strong competence in MS Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite.
-Comfort moving between and among systems, and ability to provide leadership during periods of change.
