Job Summary

Purpose of Position:

The Federal Work-Study IT Tech Administrative Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the IT department.
This role will assist with basic IT support tasks, maintain equipment inventories, and handle administrative duties related to IT services.

This position is only open to students with Federal Work Study eligibility. This position is not located on CState Campus, but at the location of the Community Partner. Duties and Responsibilities:

The Federal Work-Study IT Tech Administrative Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the IT department.
This role will assist with basic IT support tasks, maintain equipment inventories, and handle administrative duties related to IT services.


Duties to include:

Provide basic technical support to staff, including troubleshooting computer issues, resetting passwords, and assisting with software updates.
Assist in maintaining and organizing IT equipment inventory, ensuring that hardware and software are properly logged and tracked.
Help with the setup and configuration of computers, printers, and other office equipment for new employees or office relocations.
Assist with network troubleshooting and minor technical tasks under the supervision of the IT team.
Document and track technical support requests, ensuring timely resolutions.
Support the IT team in managing software licenses, hardware repairs, and vendor communications.
Assist with the creation of user guides and training materials for staff on how to use IT systems and software.
Perform data entry, organize files, and maintain records related to IT service requests and equipment management.
Assist with IT-related projects, including system upgrades, website maintenance, or cybersecurity initiatives.
Perform other tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).


Skill in: Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and common software applications.
Good communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Ability to: Work independently and as part of a team.
Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to explain technical information to non-technical staff.
Troubleshoot basic technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior IT staff.
Handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.


Minimum/General Qualifications:

This position requires applicants to have Federal Work Study as part of their current Financial Aid package with Columbus State.
You must also be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program.

Any applicants without Federal Work Study eligibility will not be considered for this position.


Applicants must have received a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109.


Must have reliable transportation or other means to get to work regularly.


Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non-degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment.


Schedule:

Flexible.
Schedule TBD by the needs of department and student schedule between office hours of Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Maximum 20 hours per week.


Work will be performed: On-site only.

Knowledge of operating systems (Windows), networking basics, and common office software.

All Tier/Level III positions are automatically enrolled in this program.
