A IS Assurance Senior Manager is responsible for supervising a team of IS Assurance professionals in the review, documentation, evaluation and testing of general controls in a wide range of technology environments to analyze system security and access controls, backup recovery procedures and IS organization and administration practices. In this role, the IS Assurance Senior Manager will participate in the development of business proposals and other business development activities to grow the IS Assurance practice.
Essential Duties/FunctionsDocuments and tests application and automated controls on a wide range of software application packagesPrepares audit reports and recommendations associated with IS audit work performedIdentifies opportunities to utilize computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) and managing the implementation of those techniques, as appropriateParticipates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirementsCommunicates to the client areas to strengthen controls, mitigate risks and/or increase efficiencyIdentifies key risks and assesses their impact and likeliness of occurrenceRecognizes technical concerns or issues and communicates those concerns with IS Assurance managementPlans and executes the IS audit work on assigned engagementsRecognizes and validates relevant technical issues and brings them to the attention of client managementReviews the work product of IS Assurance StaffEnsures technology is appropriately integrated into the audit processActs as primary client contact for all questions and issuesDevelops and maintains relationships with client personnel and managementConducts client interviews to obtain relevant information for non-complex clientsDocuments controls, tests performed and resultsOther duties as requiredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises the day-to-day workload of IS Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work productEnsures IS Assurance Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant IS Assurance software and resourcesEvaluates the performance of IS Assurance Senior Associates and Associates and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional developmentDelivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for IS Assurance Senior Associates and AssociatesActs as mentor to IS Assurance Senior Associates and Associates, as appropriateQualificationsEducationBachelors degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant field requiredMasters in Information Systems or other relevant advanced degree preferredExperienceEight (8) or more years of experience of information systems and operational auditing experience requiredFour (4) to five (5) years of supervisory experience requiredPrior experience working within a public accounting and internal auditing environmentPrior experience performing general and application control reviewsLicense/CertificationsCPA, CISA, CISSP and/or CFE certification requiredSoftwareProficient in the use of Microsoft Office SuiteExposure to industry software such as PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, SAP, Lawson, Oracle Financials, Great Plains, Solomon IV and MAS/90-500, UNIX, OS400 or ERP application software packages highly desiredOther Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical and basic research skillsSolid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detailsAbility to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environmentProven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyCapable of effective managing a team of professionals and delegating work assignments as neededCapacity to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnelAbility to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnelExecutive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagementsAbility to successfully interact with professionals at all levelsAdvanced knowledge of internal controlsAbility to travel up to 30%Ideal CandidateIdeal candidates will come from the Big 4 or large public accounting firms.
