JELD-WEN is currently seeking an IT Lead to join our growing team.
SUMMARY OF GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION: The Site Support Technician role is to ensure proper computer, computer-related hardware (printers, scanners, etc.) and software operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. Local travel to the off-site warehouse may be required.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follow corporate guidelines for installation and support of PCs and LAN equipment and software.Follow corporate guidelines for hardware/software procurement.Build rapport with plant operation's employees.Work with the service desk and other corporate IT groups to resolve issues when needed.Assisting in providing Level I Support when request volumes are high.Troubleshoot IT issues by isolating the problem, then resolving or escalating as needed.Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.Alert management to emerging trends in incidents.Support hardware and software installations for desktops, laptops, servers, barcode scanners, and network switches.Perform installations, moves, adds and changes in the areas of IT equipment such as PCs and printers.Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products.Position is full-time with opportunity for overtime. Flexibility with schedule that may include days, nights, weekends. Attendance is critical to the role.Provide assistance to the networking and systems group in supporting and troubleshooting networking and systems equipment.Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users.Oversee and execute the installation of data and phone cabling infrastructure for additions, moves, and changes at plants/sites. Will be required to work in IDF system in plant at roof level while utilizing scissor/genie lift.Other duties may be assigned.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Development software; Internet software; Project Management software; Manufacturing software; Database software and Contact Management systems. Hands-on advanced knowledge of operating systems 2K, XP, 7, Windows 10 MS Office, MS Exchange, TCP/IP, PC hardware, Local Area Networks and Printers, IOS.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate degree (A.S.) from four-year college or university in management information systems, business management, computer science or related degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use their hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with their hands and arms. This position is required to sit, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift enterprise printers and climb or stand on a stool/ladder as necessary. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be on occasion exposed to fumes, cleaning solutions, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations and loud noises. All safety protocols including OSHA guidelines are mandatory.
