General Purpose: The Information Technology (IT) Network Administrator for AgriVision Equipment Group and PrairieLand Partners is responsible for managing and optimizing our organization's network and server infrastructures ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Plan, design, and implement network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks as well as server infrastructure in an onsite hosted VMware virtual environment and replication to DR site. Monitor and maintain network and server performance, configuration, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal operation. Implement and enforce security policies and protocols to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with industry standards for the network and servers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network and server needs and implement solutions that align with business goals. Evaluate and recommend network and server hardware and software, considering factors such as performance, scalability, and cost. Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement in both the network and servers. Manage upgrades, updates, and patches while minimizing disruption to users. Provide tier 3 technical support to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Monitor traffic and usage to identify potential security threats or performance bottlenecks. Develop and maintain documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures for all servers and networks. Plan and implement disaster recovery measures to ensure network and system availability in case of emergencies. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for continuous improvement. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure effective management and support for servers and the network. Supervisory Duties: None. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner aligned with AVE-PLP's Vision, Purpose, and Guiding Principles . In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, routing, switching, and subnetting. Strong familiarity with network and server monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Relevant certifications such as MCP, MCSE, Network+ or related desired but not required or do we ask them to list certifications? Proficiency Microsoft Active Directory as well as Azure AD and Microsoft365 suite of products. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and respond effectively to network emergencies. Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to collaborate with a diverse team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Proven experience as a Network/System Administrator, Network/System Engineer, or similar role. Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud networking is desirable. Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols. Connectwise PSA (Manage) and Automate experience as well as scripting knowledge a plus. Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: Must have reliable transportation. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen will be required prior to the start of employment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the work location. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. May be required to rotate on-call responsibilities. May involve climbing ladders, stairs, steps, and traversing catwalk grating, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling on a frequent basis and working in confined space and manual dexterity required to complete work tasks through safe and proper operation of power and hand tools, and motor vehicles. Moderate physical activity required by moving and positioning objects up to 50 pounds or more occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
