Job Summary: The IT Network Infrastructure Engineer will help ensure the continuity of business operations by providing the technical expertise necessary to maintain the availability and integrity of the DiGeronimo Companies IT network infrastructure. This role will partner with team members throughout the organization to achieve corporate goals by delivering effective and secure solutions which, in turn, promotes business growth.
Responsibilities: Design, integrate, and successfully implement secure technology business solutions. Provide senior-level administrative support for network infrastructure services, including:
Software Defined, Wide Area, and Local Area Networks (SDWAN/WAN/LAN) Network hardware, operating systems, and routing protocols Network authentication protocols (RADIUS, 802.1x, port security) Wireless networks, VoIP, VPN components, and firewall administration Network security systems and applications (IDS/IPS, EDR, XDR, vulnerability scanners) Network servers and operating systems (both virtual and physical) Microsoft Windows domain services (Active Directory, GPOs, Microsoft 365) Enterprise storage systems, file and print services, and corporate messaging systems Enterprise monitoring, alerting, and data management/restoration Provide advanced (tier 2/3) support for problem-solving and root cause analysis. Manage network infrastructure implementations and changes, ensuring adherence to change management policies. Utilize monitoring tools to analyze traffic, system utilization, vulnerabilities, and uptime while generating usage reports and spotting trends. Advise on IT operational procedures and projects to assess security requirements and implement appropriate controls. Engage in platform and enterprise-level solution architecture and design. Conduct capacity planning through effective monitoring and performance measurement of network infrastructure. Assist in developing and maintaining information security awareness programs, including recommending cybersecurity training. Ensure secure identity and access management practices, including MFA and SSO (SAML/OAuth). Drive operational efficiency through script development, automation, and adherence to technical standards. Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity plans, performing regular tests and simulations. Maintain documentation for design processes, procedures, and knowledge bases. Lead periodic network health and security assessments, providing recommendations for tuning and improvement. Ensure accurate records for equipment inventory and licenses. Deliver technical and operational cross-training and mentorship to team members. Demonstrate initiative in independent work and remain current on emerging technologies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant professional certifications preferred but not required (CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, MCSE, CISSP, Network+, Security+). Proficiency in IT network infrastructure, systems, services, protocols, and supporting network applications and cloud solutions. Experience in developing system requirements, documentation, and implementation plans. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices in network management. Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM processes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours and travel to other offices and job sites as needed. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. Working Conditions: Work is frequently performed in an office setting with controlled climate.
Physical Requirements: This position primarily involves sitting for extended periods, working on a computer, and performing repetitive tasks such as typing and using a mouse. Employees must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. This position primarily involves sitting, standing, walking, use of technology requiring adequate up-close vision and the ability to adjust focus, manual dexterity, hearing and speaking.
