Salary: $26.19 - $34.70 Hourly Location : 33948, FL Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 2024-00317 Department: Budget & Administrative Services Division: Information Technology Opening Date: 10/21/2024 Closing Date: 11/4/2024 11:59 PM Eastern FLSA: Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit: NB General Summary & Essential Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY This is a professional and highly technical position responsible for monitoring and maintaining user accounts, administrating email systems, and the installation and support of server hardware and storage technologies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Maintains Active Directory user accounts; creates, removes, and disables access and permissions for all County resources; and maps shared drive verification.
Administrates, maintains and monitors County email systems; monitors mail flow, spam filtering systems, cloud stability, service health, and system intrusions; runs service usage reports; migrates new mailboxes to cloud; and maintains email archiving.
Monitors and maintains server infrastructure; verifies service and operations of servers and applications; verifies and renews security certificates; backs-up data; and conducts preventative maintenance such as updates and patches as needed.
Review System and event logs to diagnose and troubleshoot systems.
Participates in the development and implementation of Information Technology strategic planning and uniform operations procedures.
Implements industry best practices, policies, and procedures pertaining to server infrastructure.
Identifies problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
Responds to common inquiries or issues from internal customers, at times necessitating travel to remote facilities.
Assists with the evaluation, recommendation, and documentation of server infrastructure components.
Assists with the installation of server-based hardware and software solutions.
Maintains technical proficiency in areas of server environments and computer hardware.
Coordinates third-party maintenance and troubleshooting.
May assist with other I.T.
functional areas, if necessary.
Provides exceptional customer assistance, problem-solving, and/or complaint resolution by all forms of communication.

Education, Licenses and Certifications Education and Experience: An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Computer Sciences Network Administration Information Technology Three (3) years of experience in monitoring and administrating servers and networks.
Licenses and/or Certificates: Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures.
Knowledge of modern office practices, plans, and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related computer programs and software applications.
Knowledge and experience in server infrastructure deployment and support.
Knowledge of Microsoft: Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, SQL, Exchange, IIS, System Center, and Endpoint Manager.
Knowledge of VMware vCenter and vSphere.
Knowledge /functional understanding of automation or orchestration tools and scripting such as PowerShell, Python, etc.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.
Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving problems.
Ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines and objectives.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to provide internal/external guidance and customer assistance via all forms of communication.
Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, service providers, other employees, and the general public.
