The IT Systems Administrator is in an internal customer-facing role, supporting users on various platforms used to run the backbone of the business. The key to success in this role is working with stakeholders to define business needs and understand how they plan for company goals to enable optimal user interaction and efficiency. This role helps manage Scale Computing's internal Help Desk and serves as an escalation point as needed. Great candidates will look like this : Enjoy troubleshooting and problem-solving A team player who can work well within the team and collaborate cross-functionally, especially in a remote environment An excellent communicator who is efficient and effective with customers and colleagues via web conferences, email, and in-person Cares about security from both a technical and human aspect Understands the use of CRM tools, Salesforce database structure, and best practices A motivated self-starter who thrives on prioritization and follow-through Passionately creative in mindset and has the ability to adapt quickly to evolving business needs Responsibilities Understands IT industry strategies, architecture, and IT processes and creates and develops user training, documentation, and job aids on new system tools and implementations Manage employee devices using Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro, ensuring proper configuration, security compliance, software deployment, and updates. Responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer-related activities Manage telecommunications and other electronic support systems Creates and manages Linux servers as needed to support business operations and growth Administer a variety of SaaS applications, including Slack, Google Workspace, Five9, and Zoom, ensuring proper user access, configuration, asset management, and integration with internal systems Oversees the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network equipment and servers, ensuring optimal performance and security through regular patching, refresh cycles, and vulnerability remediation. Manages virtual machines, operating systems, and software to maintain a secure and efficient data center environment Familiar with setting and working within a maintenance window Work within Zendesk to provide technical support and assistance to internal users, troubleshoot issues, and manage tickets efficiently Works on IT projects, including the design and deployment of new systems and services. Helps monitor the performance of existing systems to determine cost and productivity levels and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure and finding cost efficiencies Maintain updated records of all IT processes, key contacts, contracts, and infrastructure plans Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop IT solutions as business needs evolve Troubleshoot internal user hardware (ie. MacBooks) and software issues related to internal IT, ensuring helpdesk responsibilities are met within SLA Oversee, monitor, and manage all asset management, accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations for all users Facilitate onboarding processes of all new employees with system requirements. Help research, evaluate, and recommend the latest security protocols Understands SOC2 or ISO270001 and the ability to maintain routine audits Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills and thrives on their troubleshooting skills and attention to detail A minimum of 5 years of experience working in IT operations, ensuring the smooth operation, server administration, device management, performance, and security of Windows and Linux servers through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring Experience managing employee devices using Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro Familiarity with SaaS applications such as Slack, Google Workspace, and Zoom Excellent project management skills working on various IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructure across various technologies and a strong ability to prioritize A firm grasp of IT infrastructure, operations best practices, excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network switching, routing, firewalls, and VPN Ability to create and communicate IT success to all levels of the organization via presentations, analytics, charts, and summaries Other useful skills/experience Positive attitude and growth mindset Takes initiative and delivers results with minimal supervision Strong business acumen, technical aptitude, analytical skills, & attention to detail Ability to manage and prioritize projects and ticketing systems with a Team and external Contractors Ability to clearly & concisely communicate with users in different roles and with varying skill sets Experience with SOC2 or ISO27001 audits a plus Intermediate or High-level technical certifications are a plus Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, powershell, etc. is a plus.
