As a Senior System Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT solutions within our manufacturing environment. They will be responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. Defines specifications for operating systems applications and modifies/maintains existing applications. Designs, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructure including hardware, software, and various configurations. Designs and deploys systems based on business/user requirements.
Server Management: Provision and maintain Linux/Windows servers in both production and development environments. Implement optimizations to enhance system performance and scalability. Troubleshoot common issues related to Linux core services (e.g., Upstart, Sendmail, Syslog, SSH, Apache, MySQL, Iptables). Experience with System Management ( e.gl, Azure Arc, VMware, SCCM, Intune) PowerShell Scripting: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, configuration management, and system administration tasks. Utilize PowerShell to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance system reliability. Database Management Knowledge of SQL databases Experience with database design and architecture Proficiency in database backup and recovery Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization Understanding of database security and access control Experience with database migration and replication Infrastructure Planning and Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, QAs, and software developers, to ensure smooth rollouts and continual operation of quality software. Create and implement consolidated, multi-year infrastructure plans. Datacenter Migration and Server refresh Microsoft 365 and Azure Optimization VMware vSphere Optimization Networking and Security: Basic management of Cisco networking products (Catalyst and Nexus series hardware). Familiarity with Palo Alto Firewall and CrowdStrike Falcon. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Maintain and building high resilience systems. Ensure backups are performed and tested. Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership within the team, mentoring junior engineers. Work independently with minimal supervision. Prioritizes work as it relates to the achievement of IVC's short and long- term business goals and objectives. Education: Undergraduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 6+ years relevant experience.
Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of system development methodology, project management, analytical/problem solving skills and relevant development and technology skills.
Advanced proficiency in Scripting administration (Windows, Linux, etc.).
