BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to perform regular janitorial services to maintain the cleanliness and function of the facility and vehicles, maintain the facility and vehicles by completing maintenance tasks and coordinating with outside vendors, to drive a company vehicle to collect donations and supplies from local vendors, and to support Emergency Disaster Services with recruiting and training a team and deploying to local disasters as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain cleanliness of corps buildings, including but not limited to offices, restrooms, classrooms, chapel, kitchen, multipurpose room, and food pantry.
Maintain cleanliness of parking lot, landscaping, and walkways Maintain cleanliness and repair of vehicles Conduct facility and equipment repairs Coordinate with maintenance vendors and complete internal approval process when needed Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and maintenance equipment Setup and prepare rooms for program usage Collect, load/unload food donations and equipment/supplies Institute the Injury and Illness Prevention Program Assist the Corps Officer in recruiting and training an Emergency Disaster Team Ensure the canteen is always ready to deploy mechanically sound and with all needed equipment and supplies.
Assist where needed with Seasonal fundraising, distributions, and other programs Attend all Staff Meetings and other required meetings Other duties, as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma Ability to speak and write the English language at a moderate level The high degree of confidentially Minimum one (1) year of maintenance and/or janitorial service preferred Ability to keep the highest standard of hygiene Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handing multiple tasks CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid Washington Class C Driver's License, and the ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle Must be 21 years or older.
Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects Ability to reach overhead Ability to operate the telephone Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
