Description
The Janitor role maintains and protects Goodwill SF Bay's facilities, with the main responsibilities of thoroughly cleaning and tidying the premises, preserving clean and presentable exteriors and interiors, as well as preventing vandalism.
This role focuses on building upkeep and requires diligence, great physical endurance to oversee large spaces, and high attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES Execute and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
Manage trash disposal, tidy furniture, and dust surfaces.
Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
Sanitize restrooms, lunchroom, common areas and all major fixtures and countertops (e.g.
water fountains).
Stock all restrooms with soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
Maintain cleaning equipment in proper condition.
Assist in maintenance of outer premises including watering plants, mowing lawn, and cleaning entrances.
Complete miscellaneous heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as needed.
Conduct safety and security measures including securing doors and windows and helping to prevent fire or other damages.
Comply with all necessary health and safety regulations.
Report issues to the Facilities Manager as needed.
Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1+ year of experience as janitor or in a similar maintenance role.
High school diploma is preferred.
Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
Proficient in documentation processes.
Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of individuals from a variety of educational, social and economic backgrounds.
Physical Requirements Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull at minimum 35 lbs.
Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
Ability to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time
