You'll perform the following Localization QA (LQA) tasks:
• LQA testing in Japanese.
• Identify, log, triage, and/or resolve linguistic and functional bugs.
• Partner with Localization Project Managers (LPMs) to ensure proper prioritization and rerouting of engineering issues.
• Vet translation quality results and communicate back the findings to leads when needed.
• Follow up on open critical issues by actively tracking critical logged bugs and providing regular status.
• Review translated content, such as product, marketing web pages, sales/marketing collateral, customer email campaigns, press communications, blog posts, and more.
• Consolidate and give linguistic feedback to the external translators.
• Educate them on translation issues as well as the client's tone and style.
• Maintain and report on quality metrics associated with 3rd party translators.
• Address localization questions, concerns, or queries from internal or external partners.
• Translate ad hoc urgent requests when needed.
• Live on localized products and provide quality feedback to the LPMs.

Hourly Rate: $30-$35

\n RequirementsBA/BS in Linguistics/Translation/language-related discipline. A minimum of 2 years experience in translation/editing/linguistic review (consumer and enterprise products). Native fluency in Japanese and fluency in English. Experience working in CAT (computer-assisted translation) tools. Familiarity with culture, industry trends, and daily habits in your native language, and ability to bring these to the product (to ensure products have a relevant and local feel). Jira or other bug tracking tool competency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and effectively multitask. Quality and detail-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Additional RequirementsFamiliarity with Dropbox. Fluency in additional languages is a plus. Understanding of agile framework. Knowledge of software development cycle.
