Savantage Solutions is seeking an experienced Java Developer to support our professional services team in a wide range of Java-based applications and software support activities including design and development.
Duties and Responsibilities: Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycleDesign, implement, and maintain Java-based applicationsAnalyze user requirements to define business objectivesEnvision system features and functionalityDefine application objectives and functionalityDevelop and test softwareIdentify and resolve technical issues that ariseCreate detailed design documentationDevelop technical designs for application developmentWrite well-designed, testable codeConduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging of Java codeDevelop documentation to support test scripts and user testingPrepare and produce release delivery and documentation for software componentsSupport continuous improvement, identify alternative technologies/solutions/processes, and present recommendations for architectural/technical peer reviewKnowledge, Skill, and Abilities: The candidate must have:
Experience and proficiency in maintaining and developing complex programs using Java programming language to include new modules, reconstruct existing programs, and troubleshoot problems within a production environmentKnowledge of principles and techniques of systems analysis, design, testing, and program documentationExperience in full software development lifecycle (SDLC), support, and maintenanceAbility to write clean, readable Java code as well as skills for writing reusable Java LibrariesExperience with Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)Experience with SOAP and RESTful web servicesExperience with Web Technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSSExperience with Markup Languages such as JSON, XML, XSLExperience working with SFTP file transferUnderstanding of class loading mechanisms in JavaExperience using Oracle databasesUnderstanding of design principles behind scalable applicationsKnowledge of code version tools like Version Manager or GitCorporate Summary: Savantage Solutions provides a wide range of consulting, systems integration, and financial and project management support to federal and DoD agencies.
