The Board of Outside In is committed to the continued growth and support of the organization as a critical resource to the Portland metro area. We strive to provide strategic leadership and guidance in partnership with the Executive Director and Senior Management Team.
Outside In is actively recruiting board members who are representative of or connected to the communities we serve.
We are always looking for board members with skills, expertise, and/or lived experience which complement and expand the board's capabilities. Currently, preferred qualifications include experience in finance, accounting, health care, and/or public health; additionally, we strongly encourage applicants whose identities and experiences reflect the communities we serve.

As a member of the Board of Directors, you will have the opportunity to positively impact Outside In's healthcare, housing, harm reduction, social service programs, and more. Board service is a volunteer position and does require a monthly time commitment. To make that service more accessible, financial resources are available to help with expenses such as transportation costs, childcare, technology, and others that may be incurred as part of serving as a member of Outside In's board.

As a healthcare setting, Outside In falls under the state-wide requirements for all personnel to be vaccinated against COVID-19. During the application process, we will request proof of a COVID vaccine or the completion of an accepted exemption form. This information is confidential.
Opportunity Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.
Board members must complete our onboarding process, including submitting to a required background check.
