Job Description We are looking for a Junior Accountant who will manage the constantly competing priorities where important jobs are delivered on time without undue stress. Where necessary, invite expertise and assistance early, for the best interests of your team and clients. "We" not "me". We are looking for someone who will manage their own development; professionally (including technical and soft skills) as well as personally.
You must promote and develop the client's value, wearing opportunity goggles to find outcome-based projects for your clients. Create the environment and lead meaningful discussions with clients and your team where collaboration and innovation drive progress towards the clients' "why". You have to continuously refine your ideal client and service offerings so that you are professionally challenged and fulfilled.
Other roles and responsibilities: Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger Maintenance and Bookkeeping. Accounts Payable/Receivable management. Monthly reconciliations for debtor/creditor accounts. Processing up to Trial Balance stage and preparing Business Activity Statement for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office. Monthly and Quarterly. Conduct research, analysis, development, and summarization of financial information and financial reporting and to perform the financial administration and reporting. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies. Prepare individual tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns and EOFY compliance jobs. Regular contact with clients, utilising the most appropriate medium, to ensure engagement with them. Creating monthly pay runs for relevant clients. Completion and posting of daily timesheets. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Qualifications Graduate of Bachelor's/College Degree in Accounting. Preferred, but not required - Certified Public Accountant. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 2 years of experience. Xero and MYOB Software experience. Experience in Bookkeeping and BAS Preparation. Experience with client communication. High attention to detail. Professional integrity and confidentiality. Strong time management skills to ensure all reports and lodgements are completed before the deadline.
