Position Summary
This position works under minimal supervision and works primarily on negotiated multifamily projects within the core markets.
Works closely with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
As a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the estimating take-off process from beginning to end and producing a comprehensive estimate for various types of multifamily or commercial projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications for multifamily construction projects.
Support the evaluation of offers to purchase, considering site requirements, changes, and cost adjustments.
Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other project related documents.
Complete accurate take-offs with Excel or other software system.
(Accubid/LiveCount) Stay up-to-date and apply local and national codes.
Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities.
Follow estimating procedures and guidelines.
Facilitate Estimator-to-Project Manager handoff meeting.
Meeting deadlines and ability to communicate proposed estimates to a wide audience.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates degree a plus or equivalent related experience.
1-2 years of experience construction estimation, preferably within multifamily projects.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Must have a current Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
Must be able to pass drug and background check.

Proficient in one of the following: Accubid, LiveCount, Excel, or Bluebeam.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

Flexible and adaptable; ability to work in a team environment and initiative to work alone.
Ability to work onsite daily and/or flexible hours, if needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed.
Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image
