Responsibilities
• Conduct room checks and ensure the safety of juveniles.• Assist with food preparation, kitchen duties, and cleaning.• Complete documentation for warrants, incident reports, and daily activities.• De-escalate volatile situations and physically restrain youth when necessary.• Admit and release juveniles and manage their property and medication.• Act as a Special Lay Magistrate for determining placement of juveniles.• Schedule court dates and notify guardians of determinations.
Requirements
• Associate's degree in criminal justice, social science, or related field.• One year of related work experience.• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.• Successful completion of pre-employment background process.• Ability to work effectively with juveniles and understand their needs.• Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and physically restrain youth.• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.• Professional appearance and demeanor.
