Job Description The Kids Director will implement a dynamic Kid's Ministry for kids and families at a Mariners congregational site. This person will work closely with the Mariners Kids (Irvine) ministry team to implement the Mariners Kids strategy and values through curriculum, resources, and events.
The Kids Director will:
Execute a quality, relationally engaging experience for kids and families. Communicate regularly and effectively with volunteers and parents of kids. Collaborate with Mariners Kids staff across the Mariners organization as needed. Develop and maintain a pipeline of volunteer development, providing opportunities for volunteers to grow in ministry opportunities and leadership (involving preteen junior leaders, Junior High and High School volunteers). Empower and intentionally develop ministry coaches (volunteers) who both lead and care for all volunteers. Champion a small group strategy (Lead Small) for kids (every kid belongs to a group led by consistent weekly leaders). Be excellent at conflict management and responsive to conflict when it happens. Attend and participate in Mariners Kids special events and training meetings throughout the year. Collaborate with the Mariners Kids team on the planning and execution of ministry wide events (e.g. VBS) Champion Faith Milestones for kids and families, provinging intentional leadership to I Believe experiences, Baptisms, and Child Dedications. Uphold values around safety and security, ensuring thorough training of all volunteers and leaders. Advocate for a strong partnership with parents, working to resource, equip, and encourage the most influential relationships in a child's life.
Qualifications Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. Commitment to personal spiritual growth. Experience in Children's Ministry or education is preferred. Highly organized and strong eye for detail. Strong oral and written skills. Highly relational, flexible and able to work well with others. Strong learner; adaptable. Enjoys challenges and is highly adaptive to new ideas. Knowledge of varying age levels, teaching, and learning styles of kids. Proactive and willing to seek out solutions.
