ResponsibilitiesAnalysts work under the direction of a Team Manager. The analyst is responsible for performing testing on routine and non-routine samples using chemical analysis techniques including:
Titrations and other wet chemical analysesUltraviolet and infrared spectroscopyViscosity measurements, Softening Point and other polymer analysesTotal halogen, sulfur and nitrogen testingFlashpoint testingAnalysts are also responsible for monitoring the quality of test results using statistical process control techniques and investigating failing results. Work is conducted in an environment regulated by ISO and cGMP standards.
QualificationsCandidates with an A.S. degree in chemistry or B.S. in physical science are preferred, but not requiredCandidates must have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and strong time management skillsEastman Chemical Company is an equal opportunity employer.
