About this Job
We are seeking a Lab Manager, who will report to the Head of Facilities and will be responsible for maintaining organization structures, cleanliness, lab supplies, media, buffers, cold storage etc.
inside all lab areas.
This person will act as liaison between researchers, vendors, Facilities, Procurement, EH&S for successful implementation of lab operations.
They will be responsible for not only managing these duties but also performing them daily.
Performs daily inventory, stocking of lab supplies, media, buffers, flow cytometer reagents, and monitors the utilization of these supplies to maintain inventory levels.
Central point of contact for items that are stocked at common stocks areas and solely responsible for ordering these supplies.
Allocates and manages space for personal storage bins for new and departed lab users.
Point of contact and supports lab cleaning of equipment, supply rooms, and general lab use space.
Provides lab services, such as glassware washing, autoclaving, pouring media plates, making antibiotics stocks, and LB media, maintaining agarose/gel stocks and aliquoting tissue culture media reagents.
Responsible for maintaining all lab cold storage materials in +2-+8c, -20c, -80c, -150c and cold room.
Monitor and manage the organization of materials, maintain inventory and keep stock levels to support projects, coordinate defrosts.
Maintains safety in the labs by monitoring PPE, implementing new policies through signage, waste disposal, general cleanliness, signage, chemical and flammable storage, etc.
Supports shipping, receiving and facilities equipment maintenance as needed, such as pipette calibration.
Actively partners with lab personnel to manage fast-paced growth throughout the labs.
Responsibilities Works on assignments that are complex in nature in which independent thought, action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
Acts independently, by managing their own time and schedule.
Ensures laboratories are well maintained, organized for a safe work environment.
Supports safety policies and ensures compliance in the labs.
Provides world class customer service to all customers.
Independently performs routine and non-routine tasks.
Liaises with and escorts vendors for onsite services.
Creates and maintains detailed and accurate records.
Actively manages supplies for common areas and special dedicated lab supplies.
The lab Manager will be cross trained to support and cover the Facilities team for shipping receiving and lab equipment maintenance related work as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
About You You have a minimum of 3 years experience working in Biotechnology labs or similar industry with a bachelor's degree.
Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills regarding documentation is a must.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are a must.
Must be able to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Must have the ability to multi-task and respond and react quickly.
Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift more than 50lbs.
$90,000 - $140,000 a year
