Buffalo Tungsten is hiring for a Lab Supervisor!

What you will be doing: The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods and processes that conform to industry standards for metallurgical testing. The Laboratory Supervisor will also lead the Metallurgical/Chemistry Lab team to ensure proper lab techniques are followed, conduct metallurgical testing, data collection and analysis, and authorize certificates of compliance.
Responsibilities: Adhere to all required safety policies and procedures and model their implementation.Establish comprehensive EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) program in the Lab.Lead the daily Lab operations and resources to ensure all goals are met on time.Responsibility for the cost-efficient use of resources within the Lab, maintaining cleanliness and order, careful handling of inventory, equipment, and tools.Continually promote and drive improvements and optimizations within the Lab.Perform routine metallographic examination analysis, report and certify results.Investigate customer complaints related to quality of materials received.Report on process trends to plant operations, engineering and quality managers.Maintain lab equipment to run efficiently and accurately (calibration/maintenance).Maintain laboratory standards (testing standards and documentation standards).Continually upgrade metallurgical lab capabilities through new technologies.Continually educate and train Lab personnel according to business requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders in St. Martin, Austria to transfer established processes and procedures to the Metallurgical Lab in Buffalo.Ensure that all tests are done in accordance with testing requirements & standards.Benchmark, communicate, and implement best practices into the lab processes.Help select test equipment and write procedures in accordance with standards.Contribute to budget creation and follow up for the Metallurgical Lab.Maintain inventory of Lab supplies and re-order as necessary.Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree or relevant job experience in Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent.
At least 1 years' experience in a metallurgical laboratory with non-ferrous metals and alloys in a powdered metals environment preferred.
Quality auditing experience preferred.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Visio).
Knowledgeable in use of ICP and helpful to be familiar with XRF equipment.
Pay Range: 68k - 102k based on experience
