Summary In this position you will be jointly responsible for the performance of molecular testing within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will perform molecular analyses utilizing the latest technologies, like Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Responsibilities Perform specialized molecular analysis of varying complexity and on different platformsControl the operation of the analyzers, signaling of malfunctions, required maintenance, and the ability to assist in system troubleshootingMonitor the lab processes and the registration of data in the lab information management system (LIMS)Prepare the analysis, instrument devices, and the sample according to the procedureAccurately document the lab work performedAssist with data interpretationAdhere to laboratory's quality control policies (GCP, CAP/CLIA, ISO) and document all quality control activities accurately, systematically and with the ability to recognize outliers and correct themManage inventory levels and supply ordering within the departmentDisposes of hazardous chemical wastes per regulatory guidelines Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university in the Biological Sciences, including but not limited to, Medical, Pharmaceutical or Biomedical laboratory technology, or BiochemistryQualifications 2 years of previous experience in a molecular testing laboratoryNext Generation Sequencing (NGS) and qPCR experience preferredEssential that the applicant possess a precise detail-orientated mind that can function in a team environment, as well as, independently of direct supervisionFluent with computer programs, such as, Word, Excel, and databases and are willing to acquire new skillsAbility to express yourself fluently, orally and in writing, utilizing EnglishPresent with a flexible, enthusiastic attitude, and a decisive mind towards workWorking Conditions 40 hours per weekWhat we can offer CellCarta is made up of dedicated professionals who are focused on achieving our mission of impacting the future of patient therapy.
