About the position: Nova Gas Technologies is seeking an experienced Laboratory Analyst to partner with our quality and production teams to ensure materials and finished products are analyzed accurately and in a timely fashion.
 As Laboratory Analyst, you will act as a key member of our quality team. You won't just focus on capturing analytical data, you will evaluate results and work with quality management and team members throughout the organization to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness. You will use your knowledge of lab protocols, measurement systems and statistics to make recommendations around systems and technology improvements and contribute to development of SOP's.
Your average day might include:
1. Coordinating schedules and priorities with quality and production management teams.
2. Start up, operation and shut down of laboratory equipment including gas chromatographs, FTIR's and moisture analyzers.
3. Equipment maintenance and verification.
4. Visual inspection, photography and packaging to established standards.
5. Documentation, interpretation and reporting of analytical results.
6. Identification of quality deficiencies, creation of action plans, and initiation of improvement efforts.
7. Partnering with management to develop and revise SOP's and work toward innovation of our approach to ensure Nova Gas continues to be a leader in quality and efficiency.
8. Periodic support of quality efforts outside of normal laboratory activities such as performing audits to the Nova Gas ISO 9001 certified quality management system, review and approval of certificates of analysis and assistance with quality system administrative efforts.
Requirements Skills and Education we are looking for:
1. 2 years or more of relevant experience.
2. Bachelors in mathematics, engineering, science, or equivalent field of study.
3. Strong analytical and statistical skills with experience in MSA and SPC.
4. Working knowledge of analytical and statistical software.
5. Experience with quality systems in manufacturing.
6. Highly skilled in technical investigation and root cause analysis.
Bonus Points For:
1. Previous rare or specialty gas experience.
