Job Summary For those interested in Laboratory Technician role, then this is the perfect job for you. This position has the primary responsibility of supporting the development of solutions for the Coatings Industry.
Job Description The position is working in a chemistry lab. Duties include, but are not limited to, mixing chemicals, testing samples, and documentation. Experience in technical documentation desired- Basic knowledge of chemical instrumentation required Strong laboratory skills with the ability to prioritize work on multiple tasks and projects and direct others in a fast-paced environment. Experience and knowledge in formulation and application testing of water-based binders and related technologies is desirable, but not required. Bonus if have relevant work experience in building envelope, construction adhesives, and/or nonwovens industry. Ability to complete laboratory experiments, interpret results, and design follow-up experiments in conjunction with Chemists/Technical Specialist. Ability to work effectively in both team and individual environments, with or without supervision, and direct others. Provides technical applications support to internal and external company customers in the Construction and Nonwovens industries. Utilizes technical knowledge and stays current with trends, development, and innovations of products, test methods, and industry standards in the formulation and coatings industries. Drives customer-driven innovations and manages joint development projects. Assists key stakeholders through solutions development, data generation, and evaluating company products vs. competitive products, Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Technical Service, R&D, Sales, Marketing) to develop optimized starting point formulations. Operates in compliance with EH&S and ISO quality standards and maintains laboratory equipment according to 5S policies. Contributes knowledge of test methods and writing of respective SOP/JSA. Skills Required Must have a strong sense of work ethic and self-motivation. Must operate with a high sense of urgency. Must be able to work comfortably in a team environment and also effectively on individual efforts. Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable with email, MS Word and MS Excel. Must have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.- Must be flexible and capable of adapting to priority changes on a daily basis. Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Experience in laboratory activity Performance experiments and familiarity with basic chemical mixing is required Experience in vendor management Ordering materials, cataloging materials is a plus Experience in technical documentation desired- Basic knowledge of chemical instrumentation required Basic knowledge of chemical compatibility required Basic knowledge of chemical handling and chemical storage required College level (Junior level) understanding of chemistry, physics and engineering required Detailed oriented and with high sensitivity to timeline is a must Proactive in task management and ability to address/take care of basic laboratory facilitation Education/Training/Certifications A high School diploma is required with 6 years practical laboratory experience, an associate degree with 2 years practical laboratory experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field. Company recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in chemistry or materials science (or similar field) with 0-5 years of relevant industrial experience Additional Requirements Shift Time: Monday through Friday - Standard Daytime Hours.   Pay Rate Starting at $20.00 per hour and more depending on experiences.
