Laboratory Technician

Schedule: 8am-4:30pm M-F

Type: 6-month contract with the potential to convert or extend

Our client is an analytical testing laboratory looking for a Lab Tech to join their microbiology group to perform microbiological release testing of food, pharmaceutical, and personal care products. This role is perfect for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable lab experience within a GMP environment. The company provides growth as the lab is expanding!  



Responsibilities: Performs microbiological testing of raw material, finished product samples, and purified water. Perform and document all test data following cGMPs and company SOPs. Perform plate reading and result calculations for samples analyzed within the laboratory.  Assist in method suitability testing for new product samples. Develop and maintain working knowledge of all test methodologies performed in the lab including but not limited to USP , , , and Document equipment performance data to ensure compliance with operational specifications. Enter data into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample tracking and result reporting.  Maintain laboratory environment (cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, consumables inventory, media inventory, etc.) Plan for the assigned workload daily and effectively schedule multiple assignments. Contributes to a cohesive team environment. Participates in overtime, weekend, and holiday schedules as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor/manager as required. Requirements: High School Diploma and Bachelor's in relative field preferred Understanding of good laboratory practices preferred Understanding of aseptic technique in a microbiology laboratory preferred Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift approximately 30 lbs. Comfortable working in a fast fast-pacedronment and adjust workload based upon changing priorities
