Role and Responsibilities: Benchtop Product Development: Independently execute experiments, including ingredient weigh-up and product formation.
Provide accurate and detailed records of experimental outcomes.
With the support of the R&D manager, interpret data from experiments and determine next steps.
Execute multiple work streams and project-related activities.
Data Collection: Conduct laboratory tests and take measurements on benchtop prototypes to ensure optimal quality and taste.
Support weekly shelf life evaluation via sensory analysis to ensure in-market product meets quality standards.
Lab Management: Lead lab set up (equipment set up, organization) alongside R&D manager in David's new office.
Ensure a clean and organized lab space to uphold a safe working environment.
This includes cleaning, maintenance of workspace, and dishwashing.
Maintain a detailed inventory and updated stock of laboratory ingredients and equipment.
What you'll bring: Preferred but not required: Familiarity with kitchen equipment including scales and mixers.
Experience with laboratory product development (food preferred).
Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (GMP, FDA).
Required: High character and trustworthy.
Able and eager to learn how to operate equipment and contribute to product development.
The ability to operate independently while clearly communicating results to the rest of the team.
A self-starting attitude with a love for executing on ideas and moving quickly.
Humble, self-aware, and curious.

Practicalities: Full-time role (40 hours per week) with pay of $20-25 per hour, with room to grow in the organization for a high performer.
We work in the office in our R&D lab 5 days per week in New York City.
