Large Academic Center In Tennessee Seeking Epilepsy-Focused Neurohospitalist

A large academic program in Memphis is seeking a dedicated and skilled Neurohospitalist with a focus on General and Epilepsy Neurology to join their growing team, which currently employs over 50 neurologists, including six fellowship-trained epileptologists. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic neurology program with a strong emphasis on epilepsy care and to contribute to the development of a Level 4 Epilepsy Center with a comprehensive epilepsy surgery program.


Position Highlights: Provide neurohospitalist services, primarily focusing on epilepsy and general neurology patients.Participate in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) with a current capacity of 2 beds, aiming to expand to 4 beds.Conduct daily rounding with residents.No Stroke or Trauma Call (Only epilepsy/general).Collaborate with the Chair of Neurology to enhance the epilepsy program and achieve Level 4 certification.Assist in establishing a new EMU, expanding the reach and capabilities of the neurology program.Work a 7 on/7 off schedule (24 weeks a year).Supervise and mentor neurology residents and fellows in clinical neurophysiology.Support future plans to initiate an Epilepsy fellowship program aimed for 2026.Engage in basic and translational science research, with existing projects in neuromodulation and DBS research collaborations.Participate in the use of advanced surgical systems for epilepsy surgery.
