In construction claims, experience is essential.
As a Construction Defect Large Loss Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling and resolving complex, highly specialized, and high exposure Primary and Excess Construction Defect claims, through investigation, evaluation and disposition.
This may require you to oversee and monitor underlying aggregates and primary files to ensure proper reporting of potential exposures to XL policies.
You will handle a mix of claims involving admitted and non-admitted policies.You will be making appropriate recommendations to management on coverage and settlement.
You will be proactive about the management and collection, organization and analysis of information, assurance of reserve adequacy, mitigation of AXA XL's Risk/Loss Exposure, management of litigation, and formulation of effective disposition strategies on all reported losses.
You will be performing complex work under limited supervision.
As such, we will expect you to exercise independent judgment and decision making in accordance with specified policies and guidelines.
You should possess a high level of procedural and/or technical knowledge that has been developed through extensive experience.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
•Technical claims management.
•Evaluation of the applicable AXA XL coverage and the drafting of coverage position letters without the assistance of outside counsel.
•Effectuation of appropriate risk transfer.
•Ensuring timely and adequate reserving and proper disposition of high exposure, complex claims.
Monitoring reserving activity to ensure compliance with corporate policy.
•Conducting loss investigations on all assigned claims and determining where recoveries can be made working to the agreed standard time and budget constraints.
•Technical Oversight of Third-Party Administrators
•Maintaining accountability for all assigned claims until settlement/closure is reached.
•Determining exposure, establishing adequate reserves and making timely adjustments as required.
•Maintaining an accurate written record of relevant activities relating to the claim and ensuring that claims procedural and documentation standards are maintained.
Providing accurate and timely claims status updates to internal and external customers.
•Timely reporting and communicating appropriately with reinsurers.
•Liaising and relationship building with internal local and global AXA XL departments.
•Summarizing and updating Claims Manager on a regular basis providing reports and statistical reporting where required.
•Maintaining market awareness and working with Claims Manager to maximize personal development.
•Anticipating and meeting all internal and external customer needs.
•Coaching or training less experienced claim representatives.
•Adherence to and management of expense budget.
You will report to the Claims Manager - Construction North America.

The U.S. pay range for this position is $92,500 - $182,000.
Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience, and location.
