Under the direction of the Supervisor, Card Control, the Lead Card Controller is responsible for assisting the Supervisor, Card Control with overseeing the daily operation of the card wash room; performs the duties of the Supervisor, Card Control in their absence.
The Lead Card Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all playing cards used within the Table Games Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Ensures control/protection of company assets.
Keeps track of and monitors the inventory of all playing cards and the need for new cards.
Regulates the scheduling of card shipments, as well as receiving and documenting shipments.

Ensures that new banking cards are prepared and distributed to the table game areas and that all cancelled banking cards are removed from the pits, verified and destroyed daily.
Ensures that all casino playing cards are securely transported to and from the Card Control room and stored either in the Card Control storage room, or in a locked podium drawer within each pit.
3.
Notifies the Table Games manager and surveillance when banking cards are received, distributed and destroyed, as well as any other activity and/or discrepancies.
Investigates any missing or extra cards.

Assists Supervisor, Card Control in gaming compliance audits, provides requested documentation and makes changes, revisions and/or corrections as needed.
Ensures compliance of all SMC Card Control policies and procedures and maintains compliance with all Gaming regulations.
5.
Assists Supervisor, Card Control in re-evaluating policies and procedures for the Card Control room as needed and forwards updated recommendations to management for approval.
Informs Card Control personnel of any changes to policies and procedures.
6.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum one (1) year casino card control experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA) Ability to interpret a variety of written or oral instructions.
Read, analyze and interpret all manuals, technical procedures, and all regulations having to do with the operations of the Card Control room.
Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
Ability to operate a card counting machine and a card shredding machine.
Problem solving, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
