JOB SUMMARY:
Lead a team to maintain, service, rebuild, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all cooking related equipment and refrigeration as it pertains to the continuous smooth operation of Universal Orlando. Including, but not limited to industrial kitchen and bakery equipment, propane and natural gas, and electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and rehab all kitchen equipment back to manufacturer's specifications. Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by performing the following duties:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and delegates work tasks. Delegates work assignments and communicates performance expectations among qualified crewmembers. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks. Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Communicates resource needs, work plans and Team Member concerns to Supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management. Leads work startup and stoppage and schedules breaks.
Diagnose and repair all refrigeration equipment including, but not limited to coolers, freezers, ice machines, glycol systems, ice cream machines, and keg coolers.
Diagnose and repair all commercial gas and electric kitchen and Industrial kitchen and bakery equipment including, but not limited to, fryers, steamers and ovens, steam kettles, tilt skillets, proofers, sheeters, bowl mixers, commercial dish machines, combi-ovens, stoves and conveyor type ovens, broilers, and espresso machines.
Provide mechanical and technical guidance and expertise to Tech II and Tech III technicians to continually improve the education, experience and skill set within the department.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Technical school is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of commercial appliance repair and refrigeration experience required.
Equivalent combination of education and experience also considered. 7+years preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Required: Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification through the EPA. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License to operate a company vehicle.
