We are looking for a dependable person to join us as a Lead Dog Walker! This is a part-time, W-2 employed position that receives benefits like paid time off (PTO) and 401(k) payroll contributions. You will also be provided with paid training and education on dog behavior throughout your tenure with us!
As a Lead Dog Walker, you'll be committed to providing our clients with the highest level of care and attention:
Train staff on Urban Tailz pet care service offerings like dog walks and pet sitting. Assist staff out in the field with client instructions, keys, lockboxes, and emergencies. Prepare the dogs in each household to go outside with the appropriate gear (leash, harness, etc.). Provide fun and enriching playtime for the full duration of the service (typically 30 minutes for dog walks). Provide food, water, and/or medication per the client instructions and provided training. Clean up after dogs outside on walks and inside the homes if there are messes or accidents.Chicago Service Areas: Andersonville, Avondale, Bucktown, Gold Coast, Irving Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Lincoln Square, Logan Square, Loop, North Center, Old Town, Ravenswood, River North, Roscoe Village, South Loop, Streeterville, West Loop, Wicker Park
Required Qualifications: Eligibility to work in the U.S. and a minimum age of 18.Availability each weekday (Monday through Friday) between 10am to 4pm.A reliable car and ability to commute to and around all Chicago Service Areas (listed above). Capable of withstanding all weather conditions outside and several hours of walking each day. A smartphone with a data plan for communication and tracking walks. Prior pet care experience with dogs and cats plus supervisory experience.Compensation: Pay is structured on a per-visit basis, equivalent to a competitive rate around $20 per hour.Guaranteed hours per week with the option to work additional hours and/or evening/weekend shifts.You will be eligible for a $300 bonus after a successful 90-day performance review.
