As our Sr. Email & SMS Development, you will…Be the technical subject matter expert in using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (i.e. ExactTarget) to implement and execute the B2C Email, Mobile, and Push marketing strategies and campaigns for our clients' Marketing teams. Based on the feature roadmap and by collaborating with Marketing teams, product owners, the Salesforce platform team and other engineering teams, the Lead Developer will perform hands-on technical development for all projects related to Salesforce Marketing Cloud using AMPscript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, SOAP/REST APIs, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Mobile Studio etc. as necessary.You'll have experience configuring and customizing data for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The developer is knowledgeable in subscriber management across channels and can troubleshoot various programmatic languages that guide the design of both tactical and strategic email campaigns. The Lead has experience as a developer for Marketing Cloud creating personalized, dynamic messages, and landing pages, makes use of Marketing Cloud scripting languages, and is experienced with data configuration, manipulations and advanced segmentation, as well as reporting and analytics. The Lead Developer has at least 4 years of experience developing for Marketing Cloud and associated tools. Be Accountable and ResponsibleAdminister the client's Salesforce Marketing CloudManage email and SMS execution across assigned larger, more complex clientsCoordinate and oversee email and SMS execution tasks to ensure work is completed on time, to standard, and without errorConfigure, set-up and maintain data models/data import (data extensions, shared data extensions, contact model) Work with customers and platform data (SQL, system data views, Send Log)Write advanced SQL, including join statements and stacked queriesCreate dynamic, personalized marketing assets using various scripting languages like HTML, CSS etc.Build Marketing Cloud web experiences(data forms, custom preference pages)Ability to explain subscription management and deploy business solutions accordinglyWork through and resolve scenarios using REST and SOAP APIAutomate email execution processes, activities, and reportingDesign emails and creative templates utilizing Photoshop or similar design applicationsDesign, develop, test, document, and deploy high quality business solutions in SalesforcePlay a technical role in evaluating new CRM technologies/add-ons and develop plans for their implementation into SalesforceProvide on-going technical supportTrain other development resources on Salesforce development practices, as needed. Maintain alignment with Salesforce development best practices.Advise on the implementation of tracking codeTroubleshoot email and SMS issues (platforms, HTML, rendering)Work with internal and external IT resources to ensure essential technical steps are taken for proper email program setup and integrationEnsure all client emails comply with current CAN-SPAM and other email legislationAbility to develop and deploy multiple email campaigns per dayAbility to project manage multiple campaigns simultaneouslyParticipate in and lead client meetings/conversationsSpeak as the Subject Matter Expert on relevant client callsLead and coordinate in onboarding additional resources or partners on third-party tools as necessaryWork with the Client Service and Business Development teams as an SME on additional platform capabilities to benefit our clientsUnderstand Client Call Expectations/ProcessesAbility to lead client brainstorming meetingsThese are the qualifications we're looking for4-7 years of overall hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio, Mobile Push, SFMC API, Data Extensions, Data Views, Automations, Journey Builder, Preference Center, Audience Management and Segmentation, Tracking and Reporting4-5 years of hands-on experience (advanced level knowledge) of writing SQL queries4-5 years client-facing, customer service experience3-5 years of hands-on experience (intermediate to expert level knowledge) of writing AMPScript codeBachelor of Science degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience Hands-on experience (beginner to intermediate level knowledge) of writing Server Side JavaScript codeDeep understanding, experience and ability to troubleshoot and resolve Mobile SDK, SFMC API or Automation triggered Email / Mobile Push Notifications issuesExperience building, deploying, and testing responsive email and push notifications marketing campaignsAbility to interpret performance data and insights to make iterative optimizations to campaigns and tacticsSolid technical skills and expertise with HTML and CSS optimized for email deployment with an understanding of the difference between coding for the web and coding for emailKnowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud / Service Cloud is a plusExperience coaching junior developers and training non-technical partners in SFMCHustle and willingness to learn: you speak your mind and welcome feedback to ensure your team's output is the best it can beRequired knowledge of email metrics reporting from ESPs and Google tagsSoftware development experience is a plusSalesforce Email Marketing Specialist certification (preferred)Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer certification (preferred)Strong experience with Adobe PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, and animated gifs/flashProficiency in Google Suite (specifically Google Sheets, Google Docs and Google Slides)Understand partnership opportunities and identification processesAdvanced working knowledge of Google AnalyticsAbility to work well under pressure and tight deadlinesAbility to work some after-hours and/or weekend support requiredExperience with complex data structures, data modeling and databasesExperience with any Salesforce cloudsExperience with any marketing automations tools/platformsGeneral understanding of key digital marketing trendsCompensation: $80,000 - $90,000Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training, and experience. MERGE's career ladders reflect department growth from Associate through Partner levels, with details of roles and responsibilities associated with each level. New hires are assigned a job level within a particular position based on these criteria and salary is set within the job level based on these criteria.
