The Lead Engineer and Mentor will manage, train and help recruit junior software engineers and cybersecurity professionals who will be trained to take technology positions in local government.

Description:
Responsibilities: Provide training and mentoring to learners while delivering world-class solutions.
Develop and architect technical solutions for local government entities.
Participate in recruiting cadet engineers to populate our technology cadet programs.
Client work requires experience in a variety of technologies (e.g.
Java, .NET, Python, Angular, React, Cloud, ServiceNow), and skills (e.g., DevOps, maintenance, development, analysis, testing, different development languages, databases, platforms).
Experience working within Scrum environments and familiarity with every role on a Scrum team: Product Owner, Scrum Master, and development team member/lead.
Translate client requirements into teachable modules for cadet engineers.
Develop communication and stakeholder relationship skills in junior engineers.
Support multiple projects concurrently.
Lead tech requirement intake meetings with stakeholders to shape project opportunities for the cadet engineer team.
Required Qualifications: Key Attributes Track record of delivering and running Agile/Scrum projects for business and technology stakeholders.
Ability and interest to perform a variety of work using a variety of technologies and skills, including learning new technologies.
Ability and desire to work with junior engineers, offering mentoring and training in software development languages, best practices and methodologies.
Experience and comfort communicating using a variety of methods (email, phone, video conference, instant messaging, collaboration tools, in-person).
Commitment to exceptional client service as an individual contributor and team leader.
Planning and organizational skills.
Flexibility to support projects at disparate client sites across the NCR (National Capital Region).
Demonstration of flexibility in the face of changing business and client requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will directly supervise the IT Engineering Mentors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education and Experience The ideal candidate has eight to ten years' experience in software development, and at least five years' experience in team leadership including mentoring.
A combination of education and experience in a similar field of study or a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field may be accepted.
Communication Skills Demonstrate an ability to communicate technical terms, and difficult messages to learners.
Provide one-on-one instructions/training/guidance on use of hardware/software and standard procedures.
Follow established guidelines and standards to communicate consistent messages aligned with Learners program.
Reasoning Ability The employee must be able to deduce correctly the root cause of an IT problem, based on available data and previous experience.
This employee must be able to determine the cause of a computer problem quickly and effectively.
Demonstrate ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
