Considers customer needs and maintains open communication with interfacing engineers and project stakeholders.Operate in a matrixed engineering team to ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.Leads the analysis, design, test, and integration of mechanical components and equipment required to define and support projects that meet business standards and program / product requirements.Performance of fundamental engineering hand calculations and modeling.Preparing and presenting design reviews and technical reports to internal and external customers.Lead/facilitate discussion and information exchange to promote open dialogue including working effectively in a matrixed team environment.Ensuring that product designs meet all intended application and design requirements by collaborating with experts in other functional teamsWork closely with Sourcing and Fabricators to provide technical support.Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.Minimum of 4 years of experience working in an engineering design environment.At least 2 years of experience in the nuclear field.Eligibility Requirements:The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.Desired CharacteristicsMaster's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.Prior experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industry.Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)Experience analyzing and solving moderately complex design problems.Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write organized engineering documents.Strong interpersonal and proven leadership skills.Knowledge of Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T) practicesKnowledge of the ASME/AWS codesProficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD designProficiency with ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis.The salary range for this position is $99-140k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
