Lead Extraction Technician
Job Type:Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Schedule:Monday to Friday - 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Starting Wage:$28.25/hr

What You Will Do:
Operating highly sophisticated extraction and purification equipment to process concentrates and extracts
Authoring and following procedures for extraction and post processing including operation of pressurized systems, solvent addition and recovery, winterization, filtration, rotary evaporation, decarboxylation and distillation
Operating, maintaining, adjusting, and repairing laboratory equipment such as extraction vessels, pumps, heaters, chillers, ovens, balances, vacuum pumps, freeze dryers, regulators, detectors, distillation equipment and other laboratory equipment.
Performing daily extractions, building production plans, adhering to production timelines and meeting production goals in accordance with forecasts and inventory expectations
Preparing for production by reviewing production schedule; studying and clarifying specifications; calculating requirements; assembling and weighing plant materials and supplies for extraction
Managing, training and developing lab employees
Maintaining rigorous laboratory notes and inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment as well as experimental records
Assist in building experimental designs for new project initiatives, new products and process improvements
Assist engineers within the National Process Development/R&D team to ensure new development initiatives are being implemented
Install, maintain and repair plumbing and electrical components for related extraction equipment
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and laboratory facility following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures; complying with legal regulations; monitoring environment.
Storing supplies and equipment, disposing of waste according to state guidelines, and keeping laboratory, storerooms and working areas inspection ready
Washing and sanitizing laboratory glassware.
Performing clerical work related to laboratory activities such as word processing, record keeping, and filing.
Maintaining material safety data sheets for all department chemicals and products.
Performing related duties as assigned
Compliance:
Ensure processing operation is fully compliant with state regulations and federal and state law.
Assure that operation adheres to all business and industry license requirements.
Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals and equipment used in the laboratory and documents production by completing forms, reports, logs and batch records
Maintaining inventory within state-issued cannabis inventory software
What You Will Bring:
High school degree and 2+ years of relevant technical or vocational school required
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or similar preferred
1-2 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting preferred
Job Skills:
Knowledge of and hands on experience with pressurized systems, extraction and rotary evaporation desired
Mechanical inclination with the ability to monitor, maintain and troubleshoot/repair laboratory equipment
Strong working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems with ability to work with a wide array of mechanical equipment (plumbing/electrical, pressure/vacuum/flow, etc.)
Ability to keep precise, highly detailed, and accurate records of calculations, procedures, and inventory of equipment, chemicals, consumables, and production
Ability to demonstrate, design and execute statistical, mathematical and scientific analysis
Knowledge of scientific laboratory procedures, methods of measurement and techniques as used in a chemistry laboratory
Knowledge of scientific laboratory equipment and apparatus
Health and safety practices and precautions applicable to a chemistry laboratory
Proper and safe handling and disposal of harmful chemicals, substances, and hazardous waste
Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
Demonstrate problem-solving skills
People and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload with deadlines
Ability to effectively plan and prioritize

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, along with frequent bending
Close vision (unobstructed vision at 20 inches or less)
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers
Ability to lift to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds with assistance
