Making Cents is seeking a consultant to serve as a Lead Facilitator to the Gender-Based Violence Funder Collaboration Forum. The Funder Forum is convened under the five-year USAID Collective Action to Reduce Gender-Based Violence (CARE-GBV) activity. CARE-GBV is a five-year activity designed to strengthen USAID's GBV programming, through direct USAID Mission support, the development of foundational elements for GBV programming, the creation of knowledge products, improved donor coordination in GBV programming, and internal convening. The Funder Forum seeks to advance donor efforts to prevent and respond to GBV across the development and humanitarian continuum through increased alignment, coordination, shared learnings and joint advocacy. The Funders Forum is comprised of bilateral, multilateral, and private foundation donors including the USAID, the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, and Global Affairs Canada among others. The Funders Forum's in-person gatherings include an annual meeting and bi-annual convening at the Sexual Violence Research Institute (SVRI) conference.

Tasks:
The Lead Facilitator will work with CARE-GBV staff to undertake the following tasks:
Collaborate with the Funders Forum's planning committee (currently USAID, FCDO, Global Affairs Canada, and Wellspring Philanthropic Fund) to design the Forum's annual meeting and bi-annual convening at the SVRI conference.Serve as the lead facilitator for the GBV Funder Forum's various convenings and meetings including quarterly learning sessions, annual meetings, and planning meetings.Support donor leads and co-leads to implement key actions in the GBV Funder Forum's 2024-2025 action plan.Support the GBV Funder Forum to develop subsequent action plans.Facilitate brainstorming and thoughtful discussion to support the GBV Funder Forum to achieve its objectives.Work with CARE-GBV staff to share relevant technical resources, promote information sharing between members of the GBV Funder Forum, and foster connections between practitioners/academics and the GBV Funder Forum members as appropriate.With the CARE-GBV Chief of Party and GBV Funder Forum co-facilitator, conduct monthly meetings to provide USAID key updates.With the GBV Funder Forum co-facilitator, ensure accurate documentation of all Forum meetings/convenings.Contribute to and review GBV Funder Forum annual meeting reports.Proposed Level of Effort
Total estimated Level of Effort is 30 days (between 2-8 days a month, with more LOE allocated during the Funder Forum's annual event).

Work Schedule
The consultancy will begin in October/November 2024 with an initial contracting period through March 2025 and a possible extension through September 2025.

Qualifications and RequirementsMasters degree with 12 years of experience, JD/ABD with 10 years of experience, or PhD with 8 years of experience in international development, gender/women studies, or other relevant subject.Technical expertise should include GBV prevention, response, and mitigation including designing, managing, leading programmatic technical components; familiarity with the GBV donor landscape; strong working knowledge of donor trends/funding priorities in the GBV field, evidence and research about what works and what does not in GBV programming.Effective in establishing, nurturing, and maintaining strategic and high-level relationships and networks.Significant experience convening, planning and facilitating meetings of working groups, donor affinity groups, communities of practice with high-level stakeholder participation such as donor governments and or philanthropic/private funders; generating dynamism and thoughtful discussion within these settings and driving consensus.Skilled at conceptualizing and designing meeting agendas using a range of facilitation techniques/processes/approaches to arrive at specific outcomes.Adept at leading/designing/implementing action planning processes and supporting funders (or other groups) with vision setting.Possess a deep network of contacts in the GBV field, a high level of emotional intelligence, cultural awareness and political acumen.Strong knowledge of and experience working with US Government development agencies, particularly USAID.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Making Cents International is a certified B Corporation, founded on the principles of social entrepreneurship.
