JOB SUMMARYThe Lead Grinding Operator is responsible for leading the grinding team to create high-quality finished components.
This role involves setting up and operating grinding machines, ensuring production schedules are met, and providing guidance to junior operators.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Set up and operate various grinding machines, ensuring they are functioning optimally.
Lead and coordinate the work of the grinding team, providing training and support to junior operators.
Monitor production processes, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections of finished parts and take corrective actions when necessary to meet specifications.
Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any maintenance performed.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding production goals and potential issues.
Assist with troubleshooting and repairs on grinding equipment when required.
Uphold a clean and organized workspace, addressing any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor may include department transfers to meet production needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
A minimum of 3 years experience in grinding operations; previous leadership experience preferred.
Proficiency with various grinding machinery and tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills in English; bilingual preferred.
RequirementsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Regularly required to stand for the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
Occasionally required to walk; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
Regularly lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is generally loud, requiring hearing protection.
