Duties:
Job SummaryAssumes responsibility for the histology technical operation.
Ensures that all procedures are performed as defined in section policy and procedure.
Assists and supports the Lab Director/Manager/Supervisor.
Essential Functions Process, embed, section and stain tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation.
Microscopically identify tissue structures or cell components to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory quality requirements.
Operate laboratory equipment to process, embed, section, stain, track, and decalcify tissue samples.
Ensures the implementation and maintenance of quality, efficiency, and safety in the section by meeting all accreditation standards (CAP, AABB, TJC) on a continual basis.
Checks the accuracy of processes, test methods and instruments.
Validate and optimize new processes, test methods and instruments.
Assigns work for section and assists in workload evaluations as needed, delegating authority and responsibility as appropriate to ensures that work assigned to members of the section is completed and reported in a timely manner.
Participates in writing/reviewing policies and procedures.
Performs competency assessments. Review CAP proficiency testing.
Skills:
Physical RequirementsWorks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Works in an area which contains bio hazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards.
Duties may involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending and lifting light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.
Education: HTL(ASCP) required.
Bachelor's Degree required.
One-year experience required.

Schedule: Mon to Friday 4pm- 1230am
Job Assignment Details:Routine Histology benchwork including microtomy, embedding some IHC.
Overseeing workflow to ensure lab metrics are met.
Collaborating with leaders to ensure teammate cultural commitment behaviors are followed.
Lead Team meetings, Training new Teammates, Strong communication skills
