The Lead Home Visitor provides parent education and community linkage to families with infants and toddlers that have significant behavior concerns. The Lead Home Visitor also assists the Program Director and Program Supervisor with additional administrative duties as assigned.
GoalsMeet productivity level as defined by management.Complete documentation as required by Program Director, Program Supervisor, and/or agency in a timely manner.Meet goals for opening/closing cases as defined by milestones provided by Program Director and Program Supervisor.Provide support for the program through additional duties stated below.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHome Visitor DutiesProvide parenting education via the First Five Orange County-approved KIPS (Keys to Interactive Parenting Scale) curriculum and PAT (Parents as Teachers) curriculumMaintain a caseload of up to 16-20 clients/familiesRespond immediately to newly assigned cases to ensure agency connectionConduct initial needs assessmentsDevelop relationships with families that build upon strengths & enhance self-sufficiencyProvide personal visits with a focus on parent education, problem-solving, and case managementCoordinate with all agencies involved in casesComply with Mandated Reporter requirements
Provide ongoing observation for elements of abuse and neglect within assigned familiesMaintain cases in accordance with First Five Orange County and Orange County Social Services Agency (SSA) requirementsAttend all required meetingsPerform development screenings, home safety checks, oral health education, immunization screenings, and other activities required by the First Five Orange CountyParticipate in the seasonal events/programs benefitting clientsLead DutiesProvide mentorship to program staff around program milestones and client paperworkAssist with program development and the development of new projectsProvide support, for the Program Director & Program Supervisor, including but not limited to:Review and assign referralsAssist with hiring new program staffFacilitating shadowing opportunities for new program staffAssist with new employee training, with a focus on resources for clients and documentation protocolsCo-facilitate case reviews and staff meetingsProvide supervision of administrative items for program staff, and tabulate and track monthly statistics (including, but limited to entering statistics into F5 High Five/Sales Force by the 15 th of the following month, Submit reporting data to First 5/SSA, and similar duties), as neededSecondary DutiesParticipate in weekly individual supervision and monthly case reviewMaintain updated statistics monthlyReport the weekly number of home visits, direct service hours, travel time, and other types of client statistics as needed for SSA/First Five Orange County reporting.Participate in the planning of various agency and program events as neededAssist in public education activities (speaking presentations to organizations and client outreach, etc.)Position QualificationsHigh School Diploma or related field or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred1-2 years related experience required, 2-3 years preferredBilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese is requiredSuccessful completion and maintenance of KIPS certification training program and PAT (Parent as Teachers) certifiedAccess to a reliable vehicle and current car insuranceWorking ConditionsRequires traveling to clients' homes for home visitsDue to the nature of in-home work, the working conditions vary greatly. Direct service staff may be exposed to any environmental or situational hazards that may occur in homes.Most of the time is spent traveling to and working in clients' homesMay require some evenings and SaturdaysOffice working environment is mostly indoors, reasonably clean, well-lit, and ventilatedIn the office, generally little or no probability of injury or health impairmentsRequires little or no physical effort other than intermittent standing, sitting, or walking while performing duties, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.CompensationThis is a full time, non-exempt position with hourly compensation ranging from $25.00 to $26.25, equating to approximately $52,000 to $54,600 annually.
